For the sake of humans, the great will of heaven decided to bestow angels' heart to cats. The cats were given the powers and abilities of those they received the core mana then gave birth to a new type of cats, the Hinjy. Hinjys were able to transform into humans but their eyes would still be slit and their cat ears would become apparent if too excited. With the time, the great will gave them to freedom to choose to be evil, neutral or good… which led the Hinjy to be divided in many clans.

This is about all Asuka could find about the Hinjy. She heard the term in the mouth of a guy at her school while she was wandering about. He stopped talking when he saw her but she had already heard the sentence he previously said "If you are a Hinjy then step in and fight." She smiled and shut down her computer… those words must have another meaning, there was no way a cat would be able to transform into a human.
Her wish since she was five was to be a veterinarian like her father. At first he taught her how to properly take care of the minor injury. Disinfection, bandage, first aid… she knew soon how to help with all that wasn't too serious. But as time passed by, her father gave her more serious wounds to attend until recently she was the nurse at her father animal clinic. Of course it wasn't official since she wasn't even adult. It was two months ago when her father considered teaching her minor surgery. Nothing much, but still she had reached a new level in her future work… she was now authorized to suture minor wounds.

While she was going home from school, she saw a cat in the park she had to cross. The cat was soaked to the skin even through the weather was very nice to last few days. The park didn't have fountain either so she wondered if someone didn't beat it to death before trying to drown it. Feeling sorry for the poor creature, she took it with her and put it on the examination table.

After a check of the vital signs and fever, she confirmed that it was only bleeding because of the cuts he had all over his body. She was speaking to the cat as she was doing the examination, explaining why she had to do things. Not like the cat could understand her but that earring a voice was keeping the animals calmer. As she took a needle, the cat became very defensive so she put a little on her to show the beast it was only a medicine to take care of the pain. She thought afterward it was very stupid of her because the cat wouldn't know why she did so.

The whole time, the cat was watching her so she kept on smiling gently to him. She told him about how she learned to tend the animal and how she wished to be a great veterinary with enough money to take the animal of poor people for free. But she knew it would require a lot of money and didn't know if it would be even possible in her whole life. She laughed a little at her clumsiness and told the cat to never tell anyone about this dream or she would be embarrassed.

When she finally finished suturing his last wound, she told him that it would be better not to get back on the street right away. She promised to free him afterwards but asked him to bear with the cage for the two first days since it was a sterile place where his wounds would get better faster. The cat hesitated but looking at his injuries, he went by himself into the so called "chamber" of this hospital for animals. She took the cage in her bedroom to be sure to hear him out if he was in pain.

The next day, when she removed the bandage to see if nothing was wrong, the wounds were in good shape to heal. One more day and the less serious ones would be no more. She didn't have school in the afternoon so she spent it taking care of the cat. Bathing him, then drying his fur and put him a bit in the sunlight with a towel on the upper part of the cage to make sure the sun wouldn't be too hard on him… she wished that the cat would be able to run on the wild again.

Another cat went near the cage, he didn't seem aggressive but she told him "You can't get too near, your friend's wound are still fresh. Come back in two day, he should be alright. Don't worry I gave him painkiller so he will be fine." And the cat who came sat a little away from the cage. The two cats were like speaking with each other so she looked at them with very curious eyes.

- You know, I saw a strange fairy tale in the web where cats were given angel "core mana" then those angels gave birth to Hinjy. The Hinjy can become human when they want to… well I don't know about how this fairy tale came to exist but I would be nice to thinks that there are really cats that can become human. They would be able to teach us how to take better care of animals… what they like, what they don't like…
- Meow! Said the free cat.
- You're really beautiful. I never saw cats with such a beautiful grey… let alone those tiger-like silver and golden rays… I wonder what race you are… come to thinks of it, lately at school, I heard a guy saying "If you are a Hinjy then step down and fight." I wish I would understand why he would say that… fighting is something that should only occur to protect those you love and care for. Being something shouldn't have anything to do with.

The two cats looked at her with a strange look in their eyes but she smiled and said she was sorry if the tone of her voice afraid them. She gave some caress to the injured cat and told him he would be running afar very soon. Looking at the other one, she said that it was time for her to change the bandage, look at the wounds and time for the cat who was in the cage to get some rest. Like he understood what she said, the new cat went away after looking back.

She spent her Sunday trying to make the cat feel comfortable and said him she would be glad to tell her minds to his master… trying to drown a living being was the worse! And disposing of his pet after taking him in was just being coward and irresponsible. The cat looked at the windows like he was thinking about something. She remembered it was around this time that the other cat went to visit his friend and decided to get outside in a whim.

- I guess I am the most number one idiot in this world… how would a cat give an appointment to another cat? But look, since I am idiot from the start, let's be it until my last day.
- Meow.
- Sorry, but unfortunately, human can't speak anything else than human… so unless you guy learns to speak us, I thinks we might never understand one another.
- Meow…
- Do you want to get out of the cage to be with your friend? I suppose that since your wounds are fine, you can even go with him… but how to make you understand not to strain yourself?
- Meow!
- I would really love to see your master so I could give him your medicines… but I shouldn't ask for the impossible… Here you are, I hope you will live strongly. And drop by if you are injured.
The other cat had gone away since a few minutes when she finished get the bandages off. She told her little patient that his friend wasn't very nice to let him alone like this and wondered if he would really be alright. Someone rang the bell of the clinic and she went to open the door in case it was an emergency. Two boys, very beautiful were there standing and asked if they didn't see a gray cat with silver rays.
- My cat was under my neighbor's guard since I had to go work but when I came back he had already gone missing after my neighbor tried to bath it.
- So this is why he was soaked… you know, you should take better care of him. Can you stay here a few seconds? I'll go pick him and I'll give you his medicine… maybe he got into a fight with another cat but he was badly wounded when I found him.
- Thanks for all the trouble. How much do the cares cost? I will pay.
- Look, I am just a high school student. I can't make someone pay for cares I give… if you want to pay me, just take good care of your cat.

She took the cat and gave the medicine to the owner. After explaining how to take care of the few remaining wounds, she told them to come back if anything was wrong. After a last caress to the cat, she asked about his race. The two guys looked at each other and said it was a Hinjy, as she laughed about the legend, they told her that those legends were from the lands of cats, the Egypt where the Hinjy were first seen in ancient times. She smiled again and said that sometimes legends were made to warm the empty hearts and that this legend was certainly made to cure the anxiousness of the veterinarian.

- By the way, what's his name?
- His name?
- The name of this cat. As his owner you gave him a name, no?
- Ah, it's Kira. I'm not very often asked his name so somehow I was surprised.
- Then Kira, farewell and be safe.

After walking out of her sight and earring and making sure she wasn't spying on them, they put the cat on the ground and asked if he was alright. The cat answered that he was struck in his cat form until the sutures were totally dissolved. If he went into human form, he would suffer from the strings.

- It can be a problem if you were seen like this, Kira-sama. The Jingo clan is lurking around trying to find you and take you down right when we're speaking. Why didn't you come back to the clan?
- Because I wouldn't have make it alive. This girl happened to pass by when I was about to lose to twenty Jingo's clan members. They went away as soon as they heard her and let me there… I changed into cat form for her not to be suspicious. Since she took me in and cared for me I decided that if I stayed there, I would be back in shape sooner.
- You were lucky she was passing by.
- Here you are, Kira Moonlight.
- Shit, it's Finn from the Jingo's clan.
- As you see.
- I see you let her took care of you.
- And what if I did.
- I'll warn you this one time. Don't involve that girl in anything dangerous.
- What does it means? Weren't you the one that were after my life?
- Looks like it was a mistake on our part. That clinic you were in was attacked for the medicines a few months ago. Our reports were saying that it was the moonlight clan, the only other Hinjy clan around, that was the culprit.
- If I remember well, it was around this time that you begun to hunt us.
- Because that girl is the only one with her father that would treat us without making it difficult for us to escape questioning.
- I see, human's hospital are a no-go because they will try genetic identification when they will see our eyes… but veterinarian seeing cats with strange injuries will also find it strange and report to the authorities…
- Since her father doesn't like much the local place for stray animals, he will treat them and let them go in the wild again… so we can go there if something was to happen. So this is the whole story. Since none of our clan has been killed, I will calm down the things from my side… Kira Moonlight, will you let it go and calm down your own clan?
- Neither yours, nor mine would benefit from shedding one another's blood. So I'll do that.
- Let's make this clinic a sanctuary where we will swear never fight.
- Do you have the hot for the girl there?
- If you're finished saying stupid things, should we engage our clans?
- Don't make it sound like a marriage, it's just too disgusting.
- Having somewhere to cure our wounded seems like a good, idea. Alright, the Moonlight clan will never touch that place; neither will we engage anyone here.

They all went their way back to their clan's house where they spread the word of the treaty of peace and the sanctification of the veterinarian named Aon and its clinic. They also decided to make rounds to be sure they were safe from problems and investigate the burglary case of the clinic. Five days later, Kira decided to go with Finn to the clinic to say thanks and ask about that matter.
