Delia was really feeling awkward about all those men around her, her guild master sent her to deliver a message to their troop in the battlefield. However, she arrived too late to redraw and decided that the safest was to stay and fight up. She had to let herself be a captive to do so. Mage tended to decide that their powers came from the great will; but to her it was nothing more than another natural phenomenon. Some complicated chaos born by the decision of the Great Will, whatever happened in that stupid world, be it the powers of mages or the wars was just something that went on after she casted the first of them into this planet.

The previous day's battle sapped out the greatest of the their force, along with the enemy's main army too… still, the battle wasn't over, some soldiers were whispering that it was now that the war would truly goes on. Both sides had lost their main troop and it would be a battle for survival. She was up for it, or at least she should said that she should say that she wasn't ready to die yet… therefore, everyone was up for his own hide around… A tall, blond guy passed by and saw her; she was sharpening her daggers, infusing some magic in it and preparing her weapons, like her staff by filling them with energies.

The alert was given by the sentinel a bit ahead… the next battle was going to be soon… She put on her leather armor with many strange crystals, it was really revealing but one who would get distracted by such would have many issues to face as she wasn't just anyone… Only very few mages would become battle mage, and it wasn't something one could get just because he wanted to… even so, she was only an apprentice so she didn't gave it much credit either… she was calm because she had seen already what it looked like to be on a war. Usually mages would wear light clothing and rods but she didn't really like this.

She had a tailor made her this armor in the pelt of a mythical creature that was already dead when she found it. She asked the permission to the spirit of the dead creature before and in exchange for an altar at the place where his physical body was, he accepted to let her use his pelt. In fact Mythical Beasts could only be found in the Divine Plane but this one must had be summoned by some mage that let it roam free afterwards… a chance for her that she heard rumor of a very strange beast roaming around a haunted forest.

She was told to go with the Runic Knight's squadron so she was in first line, usually a mage would be on the back of the army, using his spells to enhance the soldiers, heal them and such, but Battle Mages were always in the front lines… even in robes and with a staff. She took her longbow and didn't even cared to aim someone, she just used her arrow as a point of triggering for her Explosion's spell. It made quite a good hole in the ground, well taking along a few enemies too…

The Runic Knights went on striking with their swords but were countered by spells. She took aim and slaughtered the one responsible for defense. He was far behind but she used her magic to aim and guide the arrow. It stroke right on the heart and freed its magic in the entire body, dispelling any magic that the mage had done. An assassin was mixed in the people and had already did some damages in the army, he appeared right in front of her, she countered with the bow to protect herself and shot him a point blank range using her magic to make the arrow pierce through and kill another enemy along the one who was attacking her.

A soldier got cornered. She shot an arrow toward the sky had it split in five and shot a random place on the body the men who cornered him. He killed the one who evaded her attack and went on… She soon went out of arrow so she drew her daggers and charged in the mass along the Runic Knights. It was a bit hard for her since she had to enhance her speed and dexterity magically while making sure her spells on the soldiers were on… Nevertheless, she wouldn't be even an apprentice Battle Mage if she wasn't able to do so… her daggers were drenched in poisons, earth magic that turned some enemies into stones and wind magic that enhanced their slashing… even so it was hard to survive this.
It's hard to think about when I wrote this... I think I was around 8 years old, or 9 if I consider that it was among the writings I did around this age...
